On Tuesday, June 6, 2023 I was contemplating how to write this blog about my dream and the Lord gave me another confirmation. A Facebook video popped up by Mike & CK Thompson from June 4, 2023 called “Coming Out in the Power of the Spirit” (2) Video | Facebook that really summarized this whole thought trend. I definitely recommend watching the You Tube video. At the beginning of the dream we were going into the houses at the compound and it felt very cult-like and religious. Every room felt traditional, controlled, and stagnant. The spirit of Pharisee can be characterized by “practicing or advocating strict observance of external forms and ceremonies of religion or conduct without regard to the spirit.” The feeling that came over me during this part of the dream was that I was concerned for the people trapped in that place, and wanted them to break free from this prison. If you look at the church in America right now, there are a large number of “religious structures” just like this. Churches that have the appearance of being holy and righteous, but as you dig deeper there is just an external façade of holiness and many lack any relationship with God. I know this because I sat in churches for almost 40 years and never knew the Holy Spirit or Jesus. I strived for knowledge and to do good works, but had little to no understanding of the triune God and how to listen to the guiding of the Holy Spirit in my life. The spirit of Pharisee is much like the beginning of my dream. It’s a trap where you find yourself powerless and immobile. Someone is pulling the strings and you are just going through the patterns and motions of what a Christian should look like, without the communion and power of the Holy Spirit activating and awakening His power in and through you. However, many people in the church are completely content with this lifestyle as long as they have programs, social gatherings, and parties to take part in. Just as Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 3:2, “I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.” This spirit can exist in any denomination of the church, and just like in the dream…I want to break these Christians free from this prison of stagnant existence. The issue remains that many of these Christians do not want to be freed because it would mean they’d have to be delivered from some things that they enjoy too much to give up.
The most important revelation I received from this dream was the end where I saw the woman in the window and my husband Don said, “I have never seen her before, but for some reason I think she’s in our church.” That statement has been giving me goosebumps for days now. Come on now…Jezebel is in our church people!!! Pastor Tom told me that the woman in charge symbolizes Jezebel and that she’s usurping power just like she was in the 1 Kings:21 passage about Naboth’s vineyard that Pastor Snyder had preached about. As Pastor explained to me, Jezebel doesn’t rightfully own a place at our table. The Lord prepares a table for us as believers. However, we allow and often invite Jezebel to sit at our table. She hates authority and tries to usurp our power as believers.
This is how our churches have started preaching worldly messages. The Lord hates mixture, and we’ve allowed so much mixture in our church theology that the preachers sound like prophets of Baal instead of Prophets of our Lord. And who will suffer the most…our children. Jezebel is stealing their inheritance as children of God. She has them questioning their identities, and that’s what Satan desires most of all. Our children don’t know if they are boys are girls, and many people in churches continue to push this demonic agenda. Jezebel would love for us not to know that we are children of the most-high God. We’re made in the image of God and Satan’s so jealous of us, seeking to destroy us, because he knows we will sit with the Father in Heaven for all eternity and he can never go back there. 1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” You also will notice a great deal of idolatry in our culture right now, and that is symbolic of a Jezebel spirit being prevalent. There are so many pagan and new age ideology and symbols creeping into our entertainment and marketplace right now that it’s hard to shop anywhere without being affected. There’s also an effort to silence the prophetic voice of the church. Why does Jezebel hate the prophetic? Jezebel really hates covenant being restored. Her power is weakened when people are led to repent, tear down unholy idols in their lives, and be restored into proper alignment with God’s word. That is the main job of the prophets, and she hates it. That is why she tries to silence the prophetic and keep the church quiet.
What to make of this dream? We are going to be working with the Holy Spirit to free the people trapped by both of these demonic spirits who are building strongholds at all the gates of our cities. My intercessor friend sent me a message asking me to decree Isaiah 61: 1-4 aloud seven times this week. It struck me that it was exactly our mission right now. Of course it is. “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.” That pretty much sums up what Jesus came to do and the task that He left His disciples. I’m looking forward to watching how the Lord will take out these principalities and how He will use the unity of the body of Christ to get it done.
