For the past few years, the Lord has been speaking to my husband through dreams. October 23, 2022, Chris woke me up saying that while sleeping, the Lord gave him a message for me. Chris proceeded to describe what he’d seen and heard and directed me to write it down. He described being in a house where there were a group of people on the main level talking. In the dream he heard the Lord direct him to go wake me up and give me the verse Deuteronomy 3:4. God also told him to tell me that I was a hawk, an interceptor for America. Chris heard this multiple times. In the dream, he went upstairs to the room where I was sleeping, woke me up and told me what the Lord had said. Then, right before Chris woke up from his dream, he heard the Lord say once more to wake me up and tell me Deuteronomy 3:4; that I am a hawk; an interceptor for America. Chris immediately woke up and urgently nudged me awake saying he had something from the Lord to tell me and to write it down before he forgot. I grabbed my phone and prepared to type in the notebook app. As he described the dream, I was excited about the verse but when he told me I was a hawk, I questioned that saying, “Are you sure I’m a hawk? Are you sure He didn’t say I’m an eagle?” We’d recently heard prophetic words about eagles, geese, and doves, but never a hawk. Katy had confirmation that she is an eagle for the Lord. I wasn’t sure at first how I felt about being a hawk. And what about the interceptor part? Surely, he’d heard that wrong. Biblically, I’d heard of intercessors but never interceptors. I went to write down that I was a hawk, an intercessor for America; however, Chris was adamant that I change intercessor to interceptor. Said there was no mistake, that he’d clearly heard interceptor. I then prayed to the Lord, asking Him to please reveal to me what the dream meant.
Deuteronomy 3:4 And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them; threescore cities, all regions of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. KJV
Here, Moses recounts how Israel gained more territory to occupy and through God’s power overcome their enemies. We have a God who fights for us. We are to take territory for the Lord in this season! Nothing is too difficult, no battle too hard, no enemy too great for our God. He will always deliver us! In Christ alone, we have the victory.
Prophetic Interceptors
That same morning, I searched online for prophetic interceptors and to my surprise, found a blog by Kim Beaumont from Bethel entitled Prophetic Interceptors. Kim describes how she’d woken up one morning with the word interceptor on her mind. She’d had a dream and asked the Lord to reveal what that dream meant. He told her again, interceptor. Kim goes on to say that “there are intercessors who intercede on behalf of people and situations. But God is calling out specific people as interceptors. These people will intercept the plans of the enemy with authority and power!” Kim goes on to say, “God is waking up ‘prophetic interceptors’ who will wake up the others. They will stop slumbering, get up and together fight back and render the enemy powerless! They know their authority and the power that they carry. They know how to wield the sword of the spirit and they know the power of the blood. The Word is their weapon of choice, and declaration is one of the ‘game plays.’ Their ears and eyes are open in the spirit, they see what others don’t see. God is waking up His prophetic army of interceptors for such a time as this!” Funny how hawks are known for their excellent vision. Moreover, I find it interesting that Kim says God is waking up the interceptors and in Chris’ dream God told him to wake me up and tell me that I’m an interceptor.
The Hawk
I’m so blessed to share a ministry with my best friend, Katy, and to work for her on her farm. She’s a strong Christian leader. Katy soars for the Lord and is a forerunner with a marketplace anointing. She’s an eagle and I’m a hawk. I still didn’t know what being a hawk represented but if God said it was so, then I would embrace it. It wasn’t until a couple weeks later that I would come across a prophetic word regarding eagles and hawks.
That word came from Amy Sutherland, when I searched eagles, hawks and the prophetic. The title of her blog is “The Eagle, The Hawk, and the Spirit of Prophecy.” Amy describes a vision that the Lord gave her. It was of an eagle and a hawk perched together. When in the vision, the eagle grabbed the hawk’s talon, Amy says that her “sense was that eagle was trying to slightly agitate the hawk” but, she “had a sense that eagle and the hawk were meant to be working in tandem together.” She continues that “spiritually both have great positive meaning and significance and after reading about their hunting strategies it was more clear to (her) that the Lord is wanting to use the strength of the eagle and the hawk to work together, as both have different strengths and territories of air.”
Amy continues to explain that the eagle and hawk will “work together to capture ‘prey’ (our adversaries and the enemy’s strategies.) She explains that “the Holy Spirit revealed the reason why the eagle agitated the hawk was because He was using the eagle to broaden the wingspan of the hawk to grow into the full measure of 5 feet that would enable the hawk to soar to higher heights. Similarly, to iron sharpening iron.”
This ties into a word that the Lord gave Katy on March 23, 2021, as she was coming out of sleep. That word was “Orr, Iron- ore, Just as iron sharpens iron, you will sharpen one another.” She messaged me that she’d never thought of her last name that way. Orr sharpens ore. Katy continued in her message saying that she believes God is “confirming we’re on the right track of encouragement to each other.”
I believe that the Lord is using Katy and I working together in tandem for His kingdom purposes to spread the good news of the gospel and show others the love of Christ. The Lord has used Katy to stretch me to soar higher for Him and I am so grateful for her encouragement and guidance. Over the past few years, we have been making prayer loops around our community, decreeing, declaring, and wielding the sword of the spirit. Together we are completing land, water and gate assignments over our state, praying for our nation and taking territory for the Lord.
Now is the time for interceptors to wake up! Stand on the authority that you have in Christ. I charge you to decree and declare; to wield the sword of the spirit, to put the enemy under our feet and take back those mountains of influence. Now is a season of restoration, a time to kick the enemy off our land, advance and take territory for the kingdom. When we follow, trust and obey the Lord we will hear the sound of victory.
